2013 NSCAA Summer Symposium Experience

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America marked another milestone the first weekend of August with the successful launch of the Summer Symposium in Orlando, Fla.

Hundreds of coaches were a part of the historic event, which is modeled after the NSCAA Convention. It provided coaches with field and lecture sessions, networking opportunities, and camaraderie, which are all staples of the Association. Attendees and those at home were also witness to another "first-ever" occassion.

After its launch in late July, NSCAATV.com streamed its first live broadcast on Friday from Orlando, as Alexi Lalas gave a riveting presentation on player development.

The sessions were in full swing on Friday, as attendees enjoyed presentations from the likes of Ohio University's Dave Carr, CB3 Sports Performance & Soccer Academy's Jay Mathews, and NSCAA Goalkeeping Academy Director Tony DiCicco.

Friday evening was the panel discussion featuring soccer heavyweights in Tony Sanneh, Tosh Farrell, Bob Gansler, Ian Barker and Dawn Scott talking about player development and coaching education in the United States.

The Summer Symposium came to a close Saturday but not without a bang. The NSCAA honored coaches and student-athletes that competed during the winter and spring seasons at the High School Awards Brunch, which featured gold medalist Angela Hucles as the keynote speaker.

Attendees, presenters and NSCAATV.com viewers from home tweeted throughout the weekend about the Symposium and the live streams, saying:
