Leadership
The following sections describe the leadership structure of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
Board of Directors
A board of directors is the governing body of a non-profit organization. The NSCAA Board of Directors consists of 18 voting members (including the Executive Committee, below). The Chief Executive Officer serves as a non-voting member. Visit the current Board of Directors and Job Descriptions for more information.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is part of the Board of Directors and acts on the full board's behalf when all members cannot be present. It consists of six voting members – President, Vice-President for Education, Vice-President for Conventions and Awards, Vice-President for Communications and Marketing, Secretary and Immediate Past President. The Chief Executive Officer serves as a non-voting member. Visit the current Board of Directors and Job Descriptions for more information.
Board of Governors
The NSCAA Board of Governors acts in an advisory capacity to the Board of Directors and National Office.
National Office
The NSCAA National Office, headquartered in Kansas City, KS, is where all the day-to-day operations of the association occur. National office staff are responsible for executing the Board of Directors strategic planning initiatives.
Committees
Committees are the workhorses of the board. In committees, members can focus their attention and energy on one or two organizational concerns, rather than on every problem and opportunity that comes along. With a good committee structure in place, the board can distribute its governing functions and responsibilities equitably among its members, and thus position itself to maximize its effectiveness.
NSCAA Committees include (but are not limited to):
