Azusa Pacific, Lindsey Wilson Headline NAIA Men's All-America Team

The NAIA has announced its 2008 Men's All-America teams in conjunction with its 50th annual national championship.

2008 NSCAA/adidas NAIA Men's All-America Team: Front Row (L-R); Fraser Williams, Gilberto Romero, Jeff Jelinek, Mile Dragisic, Andre Anderson.

Back Row (L-R): Eric Winblad, Zach Patterson, Adam Worrall, Eric Lefebvre.

Twenty-four institutions had at least one representative on the national selections. Azusa Pacific University had three players earn national honors--senior defender Jared Karkas (Upland, Calif.) and midfielder Eric Winblad (Mission Viego, Calif.) on the first team and senior goalkeeper James Crawford (San Diego, Calif.) on the third team.

Lindsey Wilson University also had three players garner national accolades--freshman forward Moses Aduny (Kampala, Uganda) on the first team, while freshman defender Mikael Lunneryd (Boras, Sweden) and sophomore midfielder Frederick Were (Nairobi, Kenya) were second-team selections.

Five other schools--Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.), Concordia (Calif.), Mount Vernon Nazarene (Calif.), Hastings (Neb.), and Rio Grande (Ohio)--had two players earn All-America status.

The All-America selections were recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, held in St. Louis, Mo., on Jan. 17, as part of the 2009 NSCAA Convention.
