Heyboer, Jones Lead 2008 NSCAA/adidas Girls High School All-America Team

Laura Heyboer (Unity Christian High School/Hudsonville, Mich.) and Courtney Jones (Monte Vista High School/Danville, Calif.) have scored rare feats as each claim their third selection as an NSCAA/adidas High School All-America with the announcement of the 2008 girls class.

2008 NSCAA/adidas Girls High School All-America Team: Front Row (L-R): Whitney Berry, Stephanie Velez, Ashley Walsh, Courtney Sanders, Lisa Underwood, Leslie Twehues, Alexis Carter.

Back Row (L-R): Bri Rodriguez, Vanessa DiBernardo, Steph Whitten, Jaime Townsend, Jillian Strassner, Tania Domingos, Jessica Schloth, Devin Petta, Kate McCarthy.

Even more unique due to timing, Heyboer, now a freshman at Michigan State, also has been named a Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy semifinalist and a college All-America within the same year. Jones, now a freshman at North Carolina, was second on the Tar Heels in scoring with 13 goals and 29 points, helping UNC to its 19th NCAA title.

Heyboer and Jones were among seven players to earn repeat selection to the squad. Joining her were Bri Rodriguez (Waubonsee Valley High School/Aurora, Ill.), Lauren Alwine (Lower Dauphin High School/Elizabethtown, Pa.), Ashley Cuba (Cardinal Mooney High School/Youngstown, Ohio),
Brittany Michels (Floyd E. Kellam High School/Virginia Beach, Va.) and Caroline Miller (Walter Johnson High School/Rockville, Md.).

2008 NSCAA/adidas Girls High School All-America Team: Front Row (L-R): Lauren Gunderson, Amanda Glass, Kayla Bala, Ashley Cuba, Laura Heyboer, Jessica Craig, Lucy Brient, Laura Eddy, Ashley Baker, Meghan Gilmore.

Back Row (L-R): Natalie LeClair, Andrea Barklage, Danielle Hubka, Juliana Libertin, Mallory Schaffer, Tara Tokar, Stephanie Brandt, Whitney Berry, Catherine Parish, Lia Bellizzi.

The All-America selections were recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, held in St. Louis, Mo., on Jan. 17, as part of the 2009 NSCAA Convention.
