Quartet Take Third Boys All-America Honor

A quartet of players picked up their third honor with the announcement of the 2008 NSCAA/adidas Boys Youth All-America Team.

Jose Altamirano (Del Mar Sharks/San Diego, Calif.), David Meves (Sockers FC/Arlington Heights, Ill.), Amobi Okugo (San Juan SC/Sacramento, Calif.) and Zarek Valentin (IMG Academy/Lancaster, Pa.) all were recognized for the third time for their play in the amateur/club ranks. Eight others received the honor for a second time: Gale Agbossoumonde (IMG Academy/Syracuse, N.Y.), Chad Barson (Columbus Crew/Lewis Center, Ohio), Pablo Cruz (Pateadores SC/Azusa, Calif.), Stefan Jerome (West Pines United/Davie, Fla.), Lepekola Seetane (United 1996/Prospect, Ky.), Ben Speas (Columbus Crew/Stow, Ohio), Korey Veeder (Clearwater Chargers/St. Petersburg, Fla.) and Andrew Wenger (Pa. Classics/Lititz, Pa.).

The All-America selections were recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, held in St. Louis, Mo., on Jan. 17, as part of the 2009 NSCAA Convention.
