| Akpan Earns Third Division I All-America Honor |
Andre Akpan (Harvard/Grand Prairie, Texas) earned his third selection to the NSCAA/Performance Subaru Men’s NCAA Division I All-America Team with the announcement of the 2009 squad. He is one of only four among the 36 players to earn repeat honors.
Three of the four teams participating in this weekend’s NCAA College Cup each placed three players on the roster, while the fourth, Virginia, had one player, Tony Tchani (Norfolk, Va.) recognized by the voting NSCAA member coaches. Wake Forest had two players earn the honor for the second time: Corben Bone (Plano, Texas) and Ike Opara (Durham, N.C.), along with first-time selection Zack Schilawski (Cary, N.C.).
Akron’s Anthony Ampaipitakwong (Carrollton, Texas) was a repeat honoree and was joined by teammates Darlington Nagbe (Lakewood, Ohio) and Teal Bunbury (Prior Lake, Minn.). North Carolina’s Michael Farfan (Wildomar, Calif.), Zach Loyd (Verdigris, Okla.) and William Schuler (Allentown, N.J.) also were named to the team.

In addition to the three College Cup teams, three others had two players named to the team: Louisville, Monmouth and UCLA.
The NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-America selections were recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, held in Philadelphia, Pa., on Jan. 16 as part of the 2010 NSCAA Convention.
