How did you first become involved with the NSCAA?
Conventions since 1981, NSCAA course candidate (National and Advanced National)

Why do you continue to stay involved with the NSCAA?
It's the best coaching association in the world. It emphasizes all the elements of a good team: leadership, commitment, passion for the sport and a belief in people.

Why do you like teaching NSCAA courses?
To help make the game better and more enjoyable for coaches and in turn, players.

What is your favorite NSCAA course to teach and why?
Any course is enjoyable to teach as long as the candidates are excited to learn and improve.

What is the best thing about the NSCAA Academy?
Camaraderie.

Who is your all-time favorite player?
Zidane - elegant, effective, inventive. An artist on the field.

Who are/were your mentors in soccer?
I have many mentors in a variety of areas. I try to "borrow" bits and pieces from everywhere and anywhere.

Who are your mentors in the coaching profession?
Bob Warming, Bob Pearson, George Vizvary, Fran Bositis

What advice would you give to young coaches?
Don't let the science of coaching overwhelm the artistry of your teams and individual players.

What is your favorite book and why?
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance - It illustrates a metaphysical connection between the pursuit of passion in life and eternal truths.

What is your favorite movie and why?
Mary Poppins - I have young children and there's not a better movie for them. Also, Dick van Dyke is a comedic acting genius.

What is the last book you read?
Life of Pi

If you could be anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
I wouldn't change place with anyone for a single day as I thoroughly enjoy the challenges and opportunities associated with my family and work.
