George Crampton

COACHING POSITION:

Head Men's Soccer Coach, DeSales University (Pa.)

George Crampton is the NSCAA State Director in Northeast Pennsylvania. He has taught a variety of NSCAA coaching courses, including the National Diploma.

Crampton is the head men’s soccer coach at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. He is the all-time leader in wins in men's soccer history at DeSales University. He has guided the Bulldogs to three Freedom Conference Championships (2005, 2006, and 2007) as well as three appearances in the NCAA Tournament those same years. In addition, DSU has made six appearances in the Freedom Conference playoffs and four appearances in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament and Crampton has been named Freedom Conference Coach of the Year three times (2004, 05, and07).

Prior to joining DeSales in 1998, Crampton spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Division II Millersville University. While at Millersville, he helped the Marauders earn consecutive PSAC playoff appearances in '97 & '98, and record the most wins in program history with 14 in 1998.

Crampton's stellar playing career started at Mercer County Community College where he led the team to the NJCAA National Championship in 1991 and was named an All-American in 1992. He was honored for his achievements at MCCC when he is inducted into the Mercer County Community College Hall of Fame in 2009. Crampton then transferred to Elizabethtown College and won two MAC Championships. He was named the MAC MVP and was named to the All-American team in 1994. Prior to his college career, Crampton played with the Republic of Ireland Amateur National Team and has played professionally with the Reading Rage in the USL league in Reading.
