Interview
How did you first become involved with the NSCAA?
Jeff Tipping, Peter Gooding and Ron McEachen asked me to be a staff member after completing my Advanced National Diploma.
Why do you continue to stay involved with the NSCAA?
I enjoy education and watching the growth of our game through the coaches we see. I also feel it is a service organization that is very important to the legacy of our passion.
Why do you like teaching NSCAA courses?
I find that I learn something each time I interact with the candidates and my fellow colleagues on staff.
What is your favorite NSCAA course to teach and why?
The residential courses are all great. I prefer the Advanced National and Premier Diplomas because the curriculums are outstanding and challenge the candidates.
What is the best thing about the NSCAA Academy?
Camaraderie
Who is your all-time favorite player?
Pele - I grew up learning from his tapes. Watching him in the World Cup that hooked me to the game and then interacting with him in high school and college when he played for the Cosmos.

What advice would you give to young coaches?
Make mistakes, recognize them, correct them, be patient, respect your players (total lives), RESPECT THE GAME.
What is your favorite book and why?
Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl - framed my attitude in life Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby - passion for the game
What is your favorite movie and why?
Don't have one but love Sound of Music, MASH, Patton, Diner, Coach Carter, Remember the Titans, Braveheart

Resonant Leadership by Richard Boyatzis
If you could be anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
Abraham Lincoln - Fair, pragmatic, intelligent, common sense.
