How did you first become involved with the NSCAA?
As a candidate I took my first course (National Diploma) in 1986 and came back for the Advanced National in 1998. I have been a member since 1986.

Why do you continue to stay involved with the NSCAA?
Continuing to be a part of the mission of bringing quality soccer experiences and opportunities to kids in this country.

Why do you like teaching NSCAA courses?
Challenges me to be a better teacher and coach and to get to know and help others who also want to develop as professionals.

What is your favorite NSCAA course to teach and why?
National - Not all professional coaches, but all people who are passionate about the game and how they can help make it better.

What is the best thing about the NSCAA Academy?
The camaraderie.

Who is your all-time favorite player?
Michelle Akers - a pioneer. She left it all on the field.

Who are/were your mentors in soccer?
Kalekeni Banda-college coach, Carol Banberry- high school teacher/coach, Vern White and Joe McDermott and Adam Caputo-youth coaches that got me playing the game. Jape Shattuck - NSCAA former staff who made me feel comfortable at my first course.

Who are your mentors in the coaching profession?
Those above as well as Steve Bomford, former AD at Plymouth State College, who supported me immensely.

What advice would you give to young coaches?
Make the most of every potential learning experience, which includes every moment spent with you team and players. Your development is a constant process.

What is your favorite book and why?
How Soccer Explains the World - It is about soccer and real life.

What is your favorite movie and why?
Shawshank Redemption - determination and loyalty abound in this movie

What is the last book you read?
Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs

If you could be anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
