How did you first become involved with the NSCAA?
As an assistant college coach and after my first Convention.
Why do you continue to stay involved with the NSCAA?
The interaction with other coaches on all levels is amazing.
Why do you like teaching NSCAA courses?
The sense of satisfaction in helping other coaches to improve what they do with players.
What is your favorite NSCAA course to teach and why?
Advanced National Diploma - the course content really opens coach's eyes to the game. Also, the National Youth Diplomas - it touches a wide range of coaches.
What is the best thing about the NSCAA Academy?
The staff and interaction with the candidates as well as the content of the courses.
Who is your all-time favorite player?
Ryan Giggs, Manchester United - I love the way that he runs at defenders and makes things happen in the game.
Who are/were your mentors in soccer?
My physical education teacher, Mr. Mike Osborne.
Who are your mentors in the coaching profession?
Jeff Tipping, Tony Waiters, Jack Detchon, Michael Parker
What advice would you give to young coaches?
Be creative, be flexible and never lose the feelings you get from playing the game and use them when you coach.
What is your favorite book and why?
The Bible - it has so much to offer about life and lessons for life.
What is your favorite movie and why?
Field of Dreams - it has so many relevant messages for athletes but also for life.
What is the last book you read?
George Best - On the Ball
If you could be anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
Myself - life is too short to spend time trying to be someone else. My life, my wife and family are great.
