Circuit Training is only one component of the aerobic power phases we have within the training system at the University of Southern California. Maximum Aerobic Power (MAP) is a major contributor to recovery within the game of soccer. Soccer is an anaerobic sport with short, all out bursts of activity. However, the cumulative effect of 90 minutes of play is aerobic in nature. The greater a soccer athlete's aerobic power, there is a decrease in recovery time and with it the ability to repeat all-out anaerobic, short burst activity for ball winning, supporting teammates, penetrating, and scoring goals.
