Biomechanics is the study of human motion. Biomechanists attempt to explain the forces that arise from and affect a motion, in addition to researching the motion itself. A biomechanist might study the performance of a skill, causes of injury, or effects of the use of different types of equipment. When studying skill performance, the intent might be to describe the motion to better understand the mechanics involved in order to enhance learning. The increased understanding might also allow determination of which factors are important for successful performance.
