The goal of the NSCAA is to provide an educational curriculum that will give a base of understanding for the mom and dad coach through high school coach using the relatively simple concept of the conditioning process. This will empower these coaches to design an entry-level conditioning program. Moving Toward Grassroots Conditioning is a series of articles that will create a dialogue to achieve this goal. The third concept in our grass root program is to reduce the time needed to recover between actions. The trend has been going half circle. It used to be coaches would advocate long distance running; however, as coaches cycle through in their thinking they realize that the game is intermittent and, therefore training should reflect this fact.
