Narrator: Welcome to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America video academy. This DVD features sessions from six NSCAA National Staff Coaches on a variety of offensive tactic topics. Each session has been edited down to approximately 20 minutes of teaching and activities on the various subjects and is designed to provide instruction and coaching tips for the viewer. We hope that these sessions will provide you with many new ideas and activities to teach your players attacking tactics. This is the first of two discs of the attacking tactics set. This DVD features sessions on 1v1 attacking, attacking transition, and penetration.
The third session features NSCAA Senior Staff Coach, Paul Marco, conducting a session on penetration.
Paul Marco: Ok ladies what we’re looking at here is this diamond shape. We have a player on the ball, we have a player wide, we have a player long. Can you back up just a little bit? Good. And then we have another player wide. So now you have two options wide but we really want to play it in to her. Can you play it into her, now? Great. So that’s what we’re going to try and do, we’re going to try and split the two reds. Now let’s just have the ball back again. Now are you going to let her do that? Probably not. So you’re going to step maybe into here and you’re going to slide back perhaps just a little bit. Now can you really get it into there? Maybe not. Who can you play? Well now we can play it wide so now we’ll play the ball wide and now the reds will readjust. Go pressure the ball. And now if I come into here, if you play me here, maybe I can get in there, maybe I now have to play it sideways again. So we’re going to move the ball sideways until we can play it to split the two. So that’s what we’re trying to do. Okay. Play. Very good. Good job ladies. Good, can you split? Great. Great. And again, good. C’mon reds don’t be afraid to win the ball. There you go. Can you get it reds? Okay, stop.
