    Raising funds for your club

We had Dr. Matt Robinson's talk from the 2009 NSCAA Convention on Generating Revenue for Soccer Organizations.

What are some non-traditional ways that you raise money for your organization? Do you find that certain fundraising initiatives work better than others?

Something that we are doing ths semester with our players is we made fundraising a competition. The team was divided into four groups for off-season training, and in these teams we've had several intrasquad competitions. One of the competitions is coming up with a fundraiser. The team that wins the fundraising challenge wins a night in a box suite at a local semi-professional hockey game. Something our players have really bought into.

Interesting thoughts Jeremy. I like the reward for making it a competition. Competition is something already ingrained into our kids, we might as well use it to generate interest and longevity.

What were some of the ideas your players came up with?
