    Happy to be here

I have coached for around 15+ years. Played for a bit more. Right now i have a boys U-17 team and a girls U-12 team that i am working with in the Blue Knight organization here in Utah. I am always looking for ways to improve what I do as the kids deserve to have a coach that is as prepared and knowledgable as possible. Looking forward hopefully learning more on this forum and having some good discussions.

Good to be involved in this new part of the NSCAA. I look forward to reading some interesting discussion points. In the meantime, I would like to start one by commenting on what I saw in San Antonio last week. As a college coach, it disappoints me to see how much some coaches at the youth level continually direct their players during games. Players of such coaches are given very little chance to make their own decisions. One coach in particular in San Antonio, basically kept yelling at his players for the entire game. Not only was he telling them what to do pretty much the entire time, but he was berating them when they made the occasional error, embarrassing them with his angry stares and his body language. I genuinely felt sorry for the players.
