New, young coach from Smyrna, GA (Metro Atlanta) - Ready to learn, network, and more!
Hi, my name is Trey Joiner and I recently started my second year coaching soccer. I am in my second year as the head JV coach and an assistant Varsity coach at Campbell High School in Smyrna, GA. I'm also starting my second season with the Academy program at the Smyrna Soccer Club. This is also the start of what should be a long membership within the NSCAA, and I am very excited about that!
I feel as if I am fairly young to be such an active coach (24 years old), especially since I am still a full-time student at Kennesaw State University, and only 5 years from "retiring" as a player. With that being said, I think I am in a good position to build up my network and coaching resume at an early age, with the hopes of taking my coaching career as far as possible. I fell in love with this sport at a very early age and, minus a 2-3 year hiatus, have yet to let it go. As I each day passes, I feel more and more confident as a coach and starting to think this could be what I am here for. The ability to influence the greatest sport on Earth, as well as the youth of our country, is such an amazing opportunity and I am very thankful for it. I have been fortunate enough to play for some very good coaches, each of who had their own unique characteristics and attributes that set them apart from the rest and allowed them to be effective. One of these coaches is Michael Emanalo, who now serves as the Technical Director at Chelsea FC in England. At this point, I have taken what I feel made them effective, as well as my knowledge and experience from playing the game, in order to develop my current coaching style... but I'm still nowhere near the coach I feel that I can be. So....
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE feel free to reach out to me for any reason! I will take all the advice I can get; and again, I would love to network with each and everyone of you. My email address is below, so please don't hesitate to fill up my inbox.
Again, I am so very excited to be here and cannot wait to get more and more active within this awesome organization/fraternity.
