NSCAA Marketing Internship Opportunities
About the National Soccer Coaches Association of America:
The NSCAA is the largest single-sport coaching organization in the world. More than 26,000 NSCAA members coach both genders in every state and several foreign countries. The NSCAA includes coaches from the youth, high school, college and professional ranks, as well as administrators, referees and others with a passion for the game of soccer.
Interns assist the Marketing Department in:
- Developing marketing plans for NSCAA events and products
- Researching and acquiring potential exhibitors and advertisers
- Preparing and mailing invoices
- Designing the floor plan and layout of the Convention exhibit hall
- Drafting and review of sponsorship and advertising proposals
- Inventorying and shipping equipment and apparel
- Other projects as defined by Marketing Director
Other responsibilities include:
- Working at the Annual Convention
- Assisting Membership Department in membership mailings and data entry
- Assisting Accounting Department with filing and organization
- Assisting Education Department with various projects
Requirements:
- Recent graduate or college senior
- Available September - December 2009
- Ability to relocate to Kansas City
Ideal Candidate:
- Sport Management or Marketing Major
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Soccer background preferred (not required)

Intern/Assistant Coach, Rhodes College
Rhodes College is accepting applications for an intern/assistant coaching position working with the men’s and women’s soccer programs. A bachelor’s degree is required and collegiate goalkeeping experience is preferred, but not essential. This is a 9-month position at $16,000/year beginning August 1, 2010 and ending April 30, 2011, and renewable for a 2nd year. Potential exists for supplemental income working club soccer, camps and clinics. The position will assist the head coaches in all aspects of the soccer programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, planning/implementing daily goalkeeper training, recruiting, game management/sports information duties, website management, team travel, equipment inventory, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Good writing skills and computer literacy a must. Athletic Trainer, St. Lawrence University
10 month, full-time staff position. Starting date will be August 1, 2010. Responsibilities include providing athletic training services for 30 sports; the athletic trainer will work with other staff members towards the care, prevention, and treatment of the student-athletes. This includes but is not limited to, providing game and practice coverage, managing medical records, assisting with supervision/mentoring student first-aiders, and communicating daily with assigned team coaches. The athletic trainer’s primary responsibilities are with the following sports: men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s squash, men’s and women’s swimming/diving, and men’s lacrosse. Teaching in the Sport and Exercise Science minor is required. Athletic training opportunities during Summer Camps are available.
Qualifications: NATABOC certification required. In addition, a Master’s degree and NSCA or equivalent certification preferred. New York State Certification will be required. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to work well with student-athletes and function effectively within the context of a competitive liberal arts NCAA Division III program with highly selective academic standards.
