Coordinator of New Media, NSCAA
Based in Kansas City, Kan., the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) is the largest coaches' organization in the United States. Since its founding in 1941, it has grown to include more than 30,000 members who coach both genders at all levels of the sport. In addition to a national rankings program for colleges and high schools, NSCAA offers an extensive recognition program that presents nearly 10,000 individual awards every year. It fulfills its mission of coaching education through a nationwide program of clinics and week-long courses, teaching more than 6,000 soccer coaches each year.

Overview: The NSCAA is immediately seeking well-qualified candidates for a full-time Coordinator of New Media position whose primary focus is to oversee NSCAA.com from technical, marketing and content perspectives.  In the short term, this includes overseeing the re-design of www.nscaa.com.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Reviewing all information architecture documents and designs, testing all features and functionality, managing the project budget and schedule for the re-design of www.nscaa.com
  • Communicate all new feature / functionality and maintenance requests to the selected web development agency.  Manage the budget for all initiatives and test all new / improved features and functionality.  As needed develop specifications and review all information architecture documents and designs.
  • Recommend all new media vendors, negotiate all contracts and manage all relationships for solutions including web development, hosting, content management system, video content management system, content delivery network, ad management system, ad networks, social media software, mass email distribution, ecommerce and live video streaming.
  • Develop strategies, in coordination with Marketing Director, for NSCAA.com to generate revenue via sponsorship and online advertising.  Build digital sales packs for sponsorship/marketing department to sell.
  • Oversee the NSCAA’s social media strategy including its properties on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
  • Create a content plan for NSCAA.com to keep fresh content on the site; Work with all NSCAA departments to schedule all written, video, audio and photo content on NSCAA.com; Edit written and video content; Write copy as needed; Publish content via content management systems.
  • Oversee www.nscaa.com’s online graphic plan. 
  • Devise and implement the NSCAA’s mass email strategy.  Create and distribute the NSCAA’s email newsletters and maintain the NSCAA’s email lists.
  • Review and analyze the analytics for NSCAA.com and for all solutions.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in hand-coding HTML and CSS
  • 3+ years of experience working with content management systems, video management systems and mass email solutions
  • Web savvy with thorough knowledge and use of social media
  • Previous management experience in re-designing and re-launching online platforms and in working either for or with a web development agency
  • Previous experience in selecting third-party solutions and negotiating business terms and contracts a plus
  • Proficient in Photoshop and video/audio editing software
  • Flash, Illustrator and Javascript experience a plus
  • Both PC and Mac literate
  • Good communicator in both verbal and written forms
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging written content for Internet and printed media.
  • Background in/and familiarity with soccer desirable
  • Familiar with Associated Press style
  • Night, weekend and holiday work required occasionally.

Head Men's Coach, Tufts University

Tufts University, located in the northern section of Metropolitan Boston, invites applications for the full-time position of Head Men's Soccer Coach.

Tufts University is an active member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Division III), the Eastern College Athletic Conference, and the New England Small College Athletic Conference.

Principal Duties: Plan, recruit, organize and coach the Mens Soccer Team. Additional assignments may include assistant coaching, teaching in our Physical Education and/or health and fitness program, and administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Programs.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two (2) years of college soccer coaching; strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in soccer
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively relate to student-athletes in a highly competitive academic environment

  • Willingness and ability to actively recruit qualified student-athletes to Tufts

Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree and/or more than two(2) years of college soccer coaching.

As Head Soccer Coach, coordinates and conducts all aspects of the soccer program including (but not limited to) practices, games, recruiting, fundraising, discipline, and monitoring of academic progress of student athletes at the Oxford College of Emory University. Responsible for classroom instruction by serving as an academic lecturer in the Department of Physical Education. Organizes and directs successful youth camps and clinics. Job Description:

The assistant coach position requires assisting the head coach in all aspects related to developing a successful NCAA Division I Soccer Program. These tasks include, but are not limited to: Teaching technique and tactics in training and in team meetings and video sessions, analyzing and breaking down video of Michigan’s team and of our opponents, actively involved in all aspects of a comprehensive recruiting process that includes evaluation of prospects, maintaining prospect data base and communicating with prospects on a regular basis, assist in a wide variety of administrative tasks such as scheduling team travel, communicating with Alumnae, etc.  Adhering to all policies and rules established by the University of Michigan, The Big Ten Conference and the NCAA, and other tasks as assigned by the head or associate head coach.  Demeanor which brings a positive presence to the coaching staff and student-athletes.

Qualifications: Bachelors Degree, USSF A or B License or equivalent, excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred: Three years of coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level or equivalent for coaches from other countries, experience with analyzing soccer video, experience with video editing software and video production, ability to train players in at least one functional group area such as the Goalkeepers, Back 4, Midfield or Forwards, outstanding computer skills for various administrative tasks, excellent organizational and planning skills related to implementing a complex annual program, understanding of annual training cycles as related to improving and maintaining both aerobic and anaerobic fitness levels, ability to use the Polar Heart Rate System in order to monitor student-athlete fitness.
