St. Ignatius has three players among the 76 honorees

After spending the entire fall season atop the NSCAA/adidas boys high school rankings and completing an unblemished 23-0 record, St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio, closed out the season by placing three players on the 2005 NSCAA/adidas Boys High School All-America Team.

Earning spots on the list of 76 players for St. Ignatius were defender Barry Rice, midfielder Mark Blades and forward Justin Morrow. All three are seniors. Only two player mades a repeat appearance on this year’s team, and one did not do it for the same school. After being selected as a sophomore at Baltimore’s Archbishop Curley High School, Drew Yates returns to the squad his senior year, this time representing DeMatha High School, which ended the fall season ranked No. 3 in the NSCAA/adidas poll. Eamon O’Neill, a senior forward for Salesianum High School in Wilmington, Del., also made the team a second time.

All 77 of the honorees will be invited to the NSCAA All-America Luncheon, which will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, as part of the 2006 NSCAA Convention in Philadelphia, Pa.
