Goalkeeper Amy McClintock (Rice/St. Louis, Mo.) and forward Yannick Reyering (Virginia/Mettingen, Germany) helped their teams to wins over ranked opponents to earn NSCAA Player of the Week recognition for the week of Sept. 13.

McClintock recorded a career-high 10 saves to propel the Owls to a 1-0 victory over No. 8-ranked Texas, while Reyering tallied three goals, including the game-winner in the final two minutes of a 1-0 win over No. 10 UCLA.

Each week, a male and female player will be selected by a committee from a nomination pool comprised of players of the week from each NCAA Division I soccer conference. The players will be announced each Wednesday afternoon from now until Nov. 1 through NSCAA.com, the official website of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. They also will be recognized at halftime of the NSCAA College Game of the Week on Fox Soccer Channel, a schedule of 20 men’s and women’s intercollegiate matches. This week’s schedule kicks off on Wednesday, Sept. 13, when Cincinnati’s women’s team travels to Louisville. The men’s broadcast season opens on Thursday, Sept. 14, with Connecticut at St. John’s and continues on Friday, Sept. 15, with Clemson squaring off against North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

McClintock picked up two shutouts over the weekend, including a 1-0 upset of No. 8 Texas on Sunday. The senior also held Houston Baptist scoreless in a 4-0 contest on Friday. She made 10 stops against the Longhorns to set a new career high. McClintock has maintained a 0.35 goals against average (ranks 29th nationally) and .944 save percentage (tied for 16th nationally) this season.

Yannick Reyering, F, So., Virginia, Mettingen, Germany
Reyering led Virginia to back-to-back wins over No. 10 UCLA and conference foe North Carolina State, scoring three goals last week to help Virginia remain unbeaten with a 5-0-0 record. Against the Bruins, the sophomore forward scored on teammate Nico Colaluca's corner kick in the 88th minute en route to collecting the Cavaliers’ fourth consecutive shutout. Reyering then added two goals, including another game-winner against N.C. State in Virginia’s ACC-opener. The Mettingen, Germany, native now leads the Cavs with four goals and nine points. The two game-winning goals last week give Reyering three for the season, only one off the pace of Duke’s Mike Grella for the ACC lead. Reyering ranks third among league opponents in shots (19) and shots per game (3.80), while he is also tied for fifth in goals with four on the young season.
