Two noted writers will speak at meal functions on Friday, Jan. 12, at the 2007 NSCAA Convention in Indianapolis.
Christine Brennan, an award-winning columnist for USA Today, will speak at the Women’s Soccer Luncheon, while Paul Cuadros, author of “A Home on the Field,” will address the High School Awards Breakfast earlier in the day.
A best-selling author, Brennan also is a commentator for ABC News, ESPN, National Public Radio and Fox Sports Radio. A leading expert on the Olympic Games and women’s sports issues, her new book is entitled “Best Seat in the House: A Father, A Daughter, A Journey Through Sports.” The most widely-read female sports columnist in the nation, she has covered 12 consecutive Olympic Games. She has won the Women’s Sports Foundation’s journalism award four times and twice has been named one of the nation’s top 10 sports columnists.
Cuadros is a journalist who traveled to rural North Carolina to document the struggles of immigrant Latino workers in the poultry industry. While there he helped form the Siler City (N.C.) High School soccer team and coached it to the state title in only three years. Not only did the players overcome the challenges of a start-up program, they also had to deal with the issues that face immigrant kids, including alienation, pressure to work and the lack of proper documentation.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
