MISSION, Kan. (Aug. 8) – Kerri Hanks (Allen, Texas) of the University of Notre Dame, the 2006 winner of the Missouri Athletic Club’s Hermann Trophy, is among the 46 players who are included in the Women’s 2007 Hermann Trophy Watch List released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) today.
Hanks, a junior forward, was part of last season’s landmark sweep of the men’s and women’s awards by Notre Dame, joining Joseph Lapira (Lake Charles, La.), also a forward for the Fighting Irish who is included on the men’s Watch List for this fall.
A total of 14 schools have more than one representative on the list. Reigning NCAA champion North Carolina claimed the lion’s share with four, including 2006 MAC Herman Trophy finalist Yael Averbuch (Upper Montclair, N.J.). She is joined by Tar Heel teammates Tobin Heath (Basking Ridge, N.J.), Jessica Maxwell (Colleyville, Texas) and Allie Long (Northport, N.Y.), a transfer from Penn State. Florida, Portland and UCLA each have three players on the list, which BYU, Connecticut, Illinois, Notre Dame, Penn State, Stanford, Texas, Texas A&M, Virginia and William and Mary each have two.
Players are selected to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List by a committee of Division I coaches who are NSCAA members. In November, the list will be narrowed to 15 semifinalists. Three finalists will be named in early December in conjunction with the NCAA Division I College Cup and will be invited to the Missouri Athletic Club on Friday, January 11, 2008. The winner of the 2007 award will be announced during a nationally-televised news conference that evening.

Just to clarify, I am not a national staff instructor or a good proof reader either.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
