Ashley Kinser (Virginia Tech/Johnson City, Tenn.) and Tim Crone (Kentucky/Cincinnati, Ohio) have earned NSCAA National Player of the Week honors for Nov. 7.
Kinser had two goals, including the game-winner, to spark the Hokies to a win over No. 10 Boston College, while Crone came off the bench for a pair of goals in less than five minutes to boost Kentucky to a win over No. 4 SMU.
Each week, a male and female player is selected by a committee from a nomination pool comprised of players of the week from each NCAA Division I soccer conference. The players are announced each Wednesday afternoon through NSCAA.com, the official website of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. They also are recognized at halftime of the NSCAA College Game of the Week on Fox Soccer Channel, a schedule of 20 men’s and women’s intercollegiate matches.
The FSC broadcast season concludes this week with an ACC showdown with No. 2 Wake Forest (13-1-2) hosting No. 21 Virginia (10-5-2), with an 8 p.m. ET kickoff on Friday, Nov. 9.
Ashley Kinser
D, Sr., Virginia Tech, Johnson City, Tenn.
Kinser helped the unranked Hokies shut out No. 10 Boston College to close out the regular season. She made her final regular-season home game a memorable one as she tallied two goals in the 3-0 upset victory Sunday. The defender scored both her goals in the first seven minutes of the game to help the Hokies post their biggest win against the highest-ranked opponent in the program’s 15-year history. Kinser finished the week with five points on two goals and one assist. She picked up an assist earlier in the week in a 4-0 shutout victory against Longwood last Thursday.
Tim Crone
F, So., Kentucky, Cincinnati, Ohio
Crone scored two goals off the bench in a span of less than five minutes to lead Kentucky to a 2-1 upset over No. 4 SMU on Saturday. Crone came off the bench for the first time at the 58:44 mark and needed just 23 seconds to net a header inside the penalty area at the 59:07 mark, tying the game at 1-1. In the 65th minute, Crone struck again inside the penalty area, delivering the game-winning goal after heading the ball off the crossbar and into the goal. The two-goal game boosted Crone’s total to five goals for the season. He had missed UK’s previous four games while nursing an injury that will require surgery at the end of the season.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
