Mykell Bates (Roseville, Calif.) and Melissa Henderson (Garland, Texas) have been named the 2007 NSCAA/adidas Youth National Players of the Year.
Bates earned a host of distinctions in his youth career, including twice being selected to the NSCAA/adidas Boys Youth All-America team in 2006 and 2007. He served as captain of the United States Under-17 National Team during the most recent World Cup. He finished the tournament as the team's leading scorer.
Henderson, a two-time NSCAA/adidas Youth All-America selection, was the first junior ever to be named the Gatorade National Girls Player of the Year. She scored both of her team's goals in a 3-2 loss in the national title match. As a member of the United States Under-20 National Team, Henderson tallied two goals in the side's 3-2 exhibition victory against the Leeds Ladies during a recent tour of England. Both will be recognized at the NSCAA All-America Luncheon, which will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, as part of the 2008 NSCAA Convention in Baltimore, Md.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
