Jenae Gibbens (Cal State Fullerton/San Diego, Calif.) and Baggio Husidic (UIC/Velika Kladusa, Bosnia) played key roles in their teams’ success as Division I play got into full gear last weekend.
Gibbens scored the game-winning goal to cap a two-goal comeback for an upset victory over No. 17 California. Husidic sparked the UIC Flames to a 4-3 upset of then-No. 5 Santa Clara Monday evening.
Each week, a male and female player will be selected by a committee from a nomination pool comprised of players of the week from each NCAA Division I soccer conference. The players will be announced each Wednesday afternoon from now until Nov. 10 through NSCAA.com, the official website of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. They also will be recognized at halftime of the NSCAA College Game of the Week on Fox Soccer Channel, a schedule of 20 men’s and women’s intercollegiate matches. This week’s game spotlights the rising Kentucky men’s program (2-0-0), which will travel to southern California to face No. 21 UC Santa Barbara (1-0-0). Kickoff is scheduled for 11 p.m. ET.
Jenae Gibbens
D, Sr., Cal State Fullerton, San Diego, Calif.
Gibbens was named Most Valuable Player of the 14th annual California Invitational as she scored the game-winning goal in the last minute of the first overtime of Fullerton's 3-2 win against the host and 17th-ranked Golden Bears on Friday. Her goal helped the Titans complete a comeback from a two-goal deficit earlier in the match. In CSF's 2-0 victory on Sunday versus Saint Mary's, Gibbens placed both of her shots on frame and spearheaded a stingy Titan defense which shutout an opponent for the second time in three games.
Baggio Husidic
M, Jr., UIC, Velika Kladusa, Bosnia
For the week…two goals, one assist for five points in a 2-2 tie with UMKC Friday and a 4-3 upset victory over No. 5 Santa Clara. Husidic scored a goal and an assist in UIC's tie against UMKC and added a goal in the 22nd minute of UIC's win over Santa Clara Monday night.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
