Kelly Dyer (Texas A&M/Germantown, Tenn.) and Austin Berry (Louisville/Cincinnati, Ohio) have earned NSCAA National Player of the Week honors for Oct. 1.
Dyer posted a pair of shutouts for the seventh-ranked Aggies, including one against Big 12 rival No. 9 Texas, while Berry scored key goals in Big East play to propel Louisville to a 1-0-1 record and jump the Cardinals from No. 20 to No. 14 in the latest NSCAA/adidas national rankings.
Each week, a male and female player will be selected by a committee from a nomination pool comprised of players of the week from each NCAA Division I soccer conference. The players will be announced each Wednesday afternoon from now until Nov. 10 through NSCAA.com, the official website of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
They also will be recognized at halftime of the NSCAA College Game of the Week on Fox Soccer Channel, a schedule of 20 men’s and women’s intercollegiate matches. This week the women’s schedule will showcase an ACC battle as No. 2 North Carolina takes the short trip to No. 9 Duke for an 8 p.m. ET contest on Thursday, Oct. 2. On Oct. 3, West Virginia heads to No. 7 Connecticut, where the Huskies hope to avenge last year’s loss to the Mountaineers in Morgantown. Kickoff for the rematch also is slated 8 p.m. ET.

Berry helped the Cardinals finish the week 1-0-1 in Big East play. A midfielder, Berry and the defense helped hold Marquette without a shot for 55 minutes, through the second half and the first overtime period. Berry scored the equalizer against the Golden Eagles in the 75th minute of play as the game ended in a 1-1 draw on Sept. 28. Against No. 3 Notre Dame, Berry headed the game-winner in off a corner kick in the 95th minute. Berry and the Cardinal defense held the Fighting Irish to just 10 shots, four on goal.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
