Four Recognized for Long-Term Service to Soccer and the NSCAA

The NSCAA recognized four members for their long-term contributions to soccer during the Association's annual Awards Banquet, held Jan. 16, 2009 at the America's Center Convention Complex in St. Louis, Mo.
Former Hartwick College coach Jim Lennox received the Bill Jeffrey Award for long-term service to intercollegiate soccer. Bob Barry of the Iolani School was presented the Robert W. Robinson Award for contributions to interscholastic soccer, and Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association Executive Director Charlotte Moran received the Youth Long-Term Service Award. Peter Broadley was recognized for his contributions to the NSCAA's coaching education program with the Mike Bertlcelli Excellence in Coaching Education Award.
Each of the recipients was presented with their award by NSCAA President Al Albert.
Bill Jeffrey Award – Jim Lennox
In 33 years as a collegiate coach, Lennox built a record of 318-163-43. He led Mitchell Junior College to the NJCAA national title, then took the reins at Hartwick College. Under his direction, Hartwick made 13 NCAA tournament appearances, made five trips to the semifinals and won the 1977 title. He coached 19 NSCAA All-Americas, including National Team players Glenn Myernick and Mike Burns. The 1984 National Coach of the Year, he also was a major influence in the creation and formation of the NSCAA Coaching Academy, serving a stint as Director of Coaching. He was the inaugural recipient of the Mike Berticelli Excellence in Coaching Education award in 2001.
Robert W. Robinson Award – Bob Barry
An NSCAA member since 1970, Barry has coached the Iolani School boys team for 24 years. In that time, he has compiled a 328-116-46 record, made 10 trips to the state championship game and won five titles. He has served the NSCAA in a variety of ways, including a stint as a Board regional representative. He has been active in the awards program, serving on the winter boys high school rankings committee and as the West Region chair for the high school All-America program. His former players include Ric Miller, the first Hawaiian to be drafted into the NASL, and Mike Woitalla, senior editor at Soccer America.
Youth Long-Term Service Award – Charlotte Moran
The executive director of the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association, Moran has been involved in youth soccer for nearly 30 years, beginning at the grassroots level as a team manager and secretary of the local youth club. The US Youth Soccer Region I Girls’ ODP Administrator since 1997 and has been the national ODP chair for the past four years. A member of the NSCAA Women’s Committee, she serves as the Youth Girls Representative to the NSCAA Board of Directors. She received the Women’s Committee Award of Excellence in 2008.
Mike Berticelli Excellence in Coaching Education Award – Peter Broadley
Named to the NSCAA Associate Staff in 1990, Broadley was appointed to the Academy Staff in 1997 and the Senior Academy Staff in 2006. He has served on the Non-Residential Course Curriculum Committee the past four years. His first coaching position was as a volunteer assistant at Old Dominion University for the award’s namesake, Mike Berticelli.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
