Trinity University’s Tyrone Petrakis (Albuquerque, N.M.) and York’s Jon Ports (Baltimore, Md.) each earned their third selection as an NSCAA/adidas Division III Men’s All-America with the announcement of the 2008 squad. Neither was not lacking for company from his teammates, as three other members of the Trinity side and two other York players were chosen for recognition.

Petrakis was joined by teammates Noe Casanova (Kingwood, Texas), Patrick Floeck (Dallas, Texas) and Michael Robertson (San Antonio, Texas). York had Chris Ports (Baltimore, Md.) and Evan Scheffey (Lititz, Pa.) selected to the list in addition to Ports.

Four other schools placed multiple representatives on the team: Montclair State had three, while Carnegie Mellon, Emory and Redlands each had two. Messiah College, which claimed its sixth national championship, was represented by senior defender J.D. Binger (Belvidere, Ill.).

The All-America selections were recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, held in St. Louis, Mo., on Jan. 17, as part of the 2009 NSCAA Convention.
