Corky Julien (James Madison/Williamstown, Ont.) netted five goals last weekend to claim the first NSCAA National Player of the Week honors for the 2009 season.
Julien tallied the second hat trick of her career with all three goals in a 3-0 victory over Bucknell. Two days earlier she had two goals, including the game-winner, as the Dukes downed Xavier 5-1. Both games were played at the JMU Invitational.
Each week, a male and female player will be selected by a committee from a nomination pool comprised of players of the week from each NCAA Division I soccer conference. The players will be announced each Wednesday afternoon from now until Nov. 11 through NSCAA.com, the official website of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. They also will be recognized at halftime of the NSCAA College Game of the Week on Fox Soccer Channel, a schedule of 20 men’s and women’s intercollegiate matches. This week’s opening game turns the spotlight to the Midwest. The Memphis men’s team travels to Peoria, Ill., to start its season against Bradley, which claimed a 2-1 victory in its season-opener against Northern Illinois. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 p.m. ET.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
