The Atlantic Coast Conference takes the spotlight this week on the NSCAA College Game of the Week on Fox Soccer Channel.
The men's contest features No. 2 North Carolina (5-0-1) traveling to College Park, Md., to take on 4th-ranked Maryland (4-1-1) on Friday (Sept. 25). Kickoff for the game at Ludwig Field is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
This game is a rematch of the 2008 College Cup final in which Maryland edged North Carolina, 1-0. It is the ACC opener for both sides. Both teams enter the match with a victory. The Terrapins shut out St. Peter's 1-0 while the Tar Heels took a 2-1 overtime triumph versus East Tennessee State. Junior midfielders Cameron Brown and Michael Farfan lead UNC with three goals apiece, while junior forward Jason Herrick is Maryland's leading scorer with four goals and nine points. The Terrapins hold a 42-21-3 series advantage and have won eight straight contests over the Tar Heels, including three one-goal victories in 2008.
The second part of the doubleheader features unbeaten and top-ranked North Carolina (7-0-1 entering the week) playing host to No. 7 Wake Forest (8-1-0 entering the week) in the women's matchup on Sunday (Sept. 27). The contest at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill, N.C., gets underway at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT.
Wake Forest is coming off a 1-0 shutout victory against UAB, while North Carolina and Auburn battled to a 1-1 draw at the Duke tournament. The Demon Deacons are led by senior forward Jill Hutchinson's eight goals and 18 points. The Tar Heels feature three 2009 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Watch List players--senior defender Whitney Engen, senior midfielder Tobin Heath and senior forward Casey Nogueira, who was a 2008 finalist. North Carolina holds a 22-1 lead in the all-time series, including a perfect 13-0 record at home. In the last meeting between the teams, the Tar Heels prevailed by a 4-2 score at Winston-Salem, N.C., in 2008.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
