The NSCAA College Game of the Week on Fox Soccer Channel heads to the western half of the United States for this week's doubleheader.
The men's contest is a non-conference battle of nationally-ranked teams. No. 9 Indiana (5-2-1) heads to Santa Barbara, Calif., to face 11th-ranked UC Santa Barbara (6-2-1) on Friday (Oct. 2). The live broadcast at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium gets underway at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT.
This game is a rematch of the 2004 College Cup final, where Indiana prevailed in penalty kicks. Both sides enter the match with victories. Indiana knocked off No. 13 Kentucky, 3-0, on Wednesday as junior forward Andy Adlard netted two goals. The Hoosiers are led in scoring by sophomore forward Will Bruin, who has five tallies this season. UC Santa Barbara blanked UC Irvine 1-0 in their last outing. The Gauchos show balance in their offense as three players--senior midfielder Martin Hedeberg, freshman forward Michael Nomi and senior forward David Walker--have four goals apiece. This all-time series is tied at two games each.
The women's game spotlights teams from the Mountain West and Big Sky Conferences as Wyoming (5-4-2) travels to Greeley, Colo., to take on Northern Colorado (4-4-1) on Sunday (Oct. 4) at Jackson Stadium. The contest will air on a tape-delayed basis on Tue., Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
Wyoming is coming off a 1-0 shutout victory of UC Riverside. The Cowgirls are led by freshman forward Olivia Mohtadi, who has notched three goals this season. Northern Colorado enters the game fresh off a 2-1 home triumph against Creighton. Freshman midfielder Danielle Birdsell slotted the game-winning score in the victory over the Bluejays. Wyoming holds a 5-1 all-time series lead, but Northern Colorado won the last meeting, 1-0 at Greeley.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
