Kelley O’Hara (Stanford/Fayetteville, Ga.) and Zack Schilawski (Wake Forest/Cary, N.C.) have been selected as the 2009 NSCAA/adidas Collegiate Scholar Athletes of the Year.
To become a Scholar Athlete of the Year, student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout their career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team; be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member; be a junior or above in academic standing at the current institution; be in their second year at the current school if they are a transfer student; and submit an official copy of a certified transcript.
The two will be recognized along with the NSCAA/adidas High School Scholar All-America teams at the annual All-America Luncheon, to be held at Philadelphia’s Marriott Downtown on Saturday, Jan. 16, as part of the 2010 NSCAA Convention.
About Kelley O’Hara
O’Hara shattered Stanford season records for goals (26) and points (65) this year while leading the nation in both categories. O’Hara also passed for 13 assists, the third-best mark in school history. She also is a finalist for the 2009 Missouri Athletic Club’s Hermann Trophy and could become the first player since 2005 to win both the Division I Player of the Year and Scholar Athlete of the Year awards in the same season. Portland’s Christine Sinclair is the only other woman to accomplish the feat. O’Hara would be only the fourth player to claim both awards in the same year, regardless of gender.
Besides leading Stanford to its first NCAA championship final and its best-ever record (25-1), O’Hara has a 3.41 GPA in science, technology and society with an emphasis on environmental engineering and product design.
About Zack Schilawski
Schilawski led the ACC with 14 goals and 35 points. A 2009 All-ACC first team selection, he also earned third-team NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-America recognition. He led the Demon Deacons with five game-winning goals in 2009 and also contributed seven assists. Schilawski finished the season ranked 19th nationally in points per game. For his career, he played in a school record 99 career games and also finished third in school history in career goals (40) and points (100). He scored the winning goal in Wake’s 2-1 over Ohio State in the 2007 NCAA championship game.
A finalist for the Lowe’s Senior Class Award, he is a two-time ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American. He has maintained a 3.58 GPA, majoring in biology.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
