Ten players from the four teams that square off this weekend for the NCAA Division I women’s soccer title take the field in College Station, Texas, as newly-anointed NSCAA All-Americas with the announcement of the 2009 team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Stanford, the undefeated No. 1 team in the nation, has four representatives on the All-America rolls, while North Carolina, Notre Dame and UCLA each have two.
Leading the way for the Cardinal is senior forward Kelley O’Hara (Fayetteville, Ga.), a Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy semifinalist who was chosen to the first team. Classmate and fellow forward Christen Press (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.) earned a berth on the second team, while senior defender Ali Riley (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) and freshman midfielder Mariah Nogueira (Westminster, Calif.) were drawn to the third team.
Reigning champion North Carolina had both its representatives, seniors Whitney Engen (Rolling Hills Estates, Calif. ) and Tobin Heath (Basking Ridge, N.J.) chosen to the first team, while Notre Dame and UCLA had their two players split between the first and third teams. For the Irish, sophomore midfielder Courtney Barg (Plano, Texas) went to the first team while junior forward Lauren Fowlkes (Lee’s Summit, Mo.) received a third-team slot. The Bruins’ senior forward Lauren Cheney (Indianapolis, Ind.), a three-time Hermann Trophy semifinalist, made the first team while sophomore Sydney Leroux (Vancouver, B.C.) went to the third team.
Portland, which ended the regular season ranked No. 2 in the NSCAA poll, placed four players among the 38 players honored, including a pair of first-team selections in seniors Sophie Schmidt (Abbotsford, B.C.) and Michelle Enyeart (Hemet, Calif.). The other teams with multiple representatives were Boston College with three and Florida State and Penn State with two each.
The NSCAA All-America selections were recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, held in Philadelphia, Pa., on Jan. 16 as part of the 2010 NSCAA Convention.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
