The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and People to People Ambassador Programs have announced a sponsorship agreement, through which People to People furthers its commitment to providing unique educational opportunities for soccer players around the world while supporting the NSCAA’s ongoing mission to train and educate highly skilled coaches.

“We’re excited to welcome People to People to our outstanding group of dedicated sponsors,” said Joe Cummings, CEO and Executive Director of the NSCAA. “The support of partners like People to People helps the NSCAA continue to provide the best coaching education, convention, and member services to the soccer community.”

As part of the sponsorship, People to People becomes the title sponsor of the NSCAA/People to People Youth All-America Program, which recognizes the top boys and girls in elite youth soccer throughout the nation. The team is comprised of 40 boys and 40 girls players selected from four All-Region pools based on geographic regions in the United States. Among the players recognized with the award in past years are Freddy Adu, Charlie Davies and Michael Bradley for the boys and Olympic gold medalists Heather O’Reilly, Lauren Cheney and Tobin Heath for the girls.

People to People will leverage its sponsorship to share information with the NSCAA’s members about 2011 summer Sports Ambassador Programs. 2011 programs include the People to People Zico Cup Futebol Tournament in Brazil and the Soccer Cup Tournament in Italy and Germany. People to People Sports Ambassador Programs offer participants exclusive access to soccer training and competitive play, as well as exposure to select educational and cultural activities within the host countries.

“Players have the opportunity to build self-confidence as they progress and grow throughout the competition,” said People to People Ambassador Programs Soccer Commissioner Steve Sampson, the former U.S. Men's National Team head coach who led the Los Angeles Galaxy to the 2005 Major League Soccer title. “These programs are culturally stimulating, challenging, and a lot of fun for the athletes.”
