Kinne, Rolfe Repeat as Men’s MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalists

Ryan Kinne (Monmouth/Naugatuck, Conn.) and Colin Rolfe (Louisville/Canton, Mich.) are the only two repeat selections among the 15 men’s semifinalists for the Missouri Athletic Club’s Hermann Trophy, the most prestigious individual award in intercollegiate soccer.
Kinne, a two-time Northeast Conference Player of the Year, ranks among the top 15 in the nation in scoring this season, while Rolfe has led the Cardinals to the No. 1 spot in the NSCAA/HendrickCars.com national rankings. Louisville faces UCLA Saturday afternoon for a berth in the Men’s College Cup, which will be held Dec. 10-12 in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Head coaches of Division I programs with current membership in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) will vote to determine the 2010 MAC Hermann Trophy recipient. Three finalists for the award will be announced on Friday, Dec. 10. They will be invited to the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis for a news conference on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, where the winner will be announced. A dinner and formal presentation of the award will follow the news conference that evening.

2010 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Men’s Semifinalists
Will Bruin
F, Jr., Indiana, St. Louis, Mo.
Has appeared in all 20 games for the Hoosiers…leads the team in scoring with 41 points on 18 goals and five assists….third in the nation in points and points per game (2.05)…posted three game-winning goals…earned NSCAA National Player of the Week honors Oct. 13 after leading IU to an upset of No. 11 Creighton.
Tony Cascio
F, Jr. Connecticut, Gilbert, Ariz.
Started 19 games for the Huskies…leads the team with 26 points on 10 goals and six assists…has four game-winning goals…has put 25 of his 55 shots on frame (.455)…the Big East Offensive Player of the Year…had a hat trick in a 4-0 win over South Florida and two goals against Seton Hall.
Michael Farfan
M, Sr., North Carolina, Wildomar, Calif.
Started 17 games for the Tar Heels…is second on the team in scoring with 13 points off five goals and three assists…has three game-winning goals to his credit…has put 25 of his 56 shots on goal for a .446 accuracy rate…two of his goals have come on penalty kicks.
Ethan Finlay
F, Jr., Creighton, Marshfield, Wis.
Started all 20 games for the Bluejays….leads the team with 34 points on 15 goals and four assists…seventh in the nation in points and tied for 10th with 1.70 points per game…responsible for five game-winning goals…the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year…also named an MVC Scholar-Athlete with a 3.29 GPA.
Corey Hertzog
F, Jr., Penn. State, Reading, Pa.
Started 21 of 22 games for the Nittany Lions…leads the nation in goals (20), points (46) and points per game (2.09)… scored six game-winners this season…put 47 of his 115 shots on frame, a .409 accuracy rate…converted two of three penalty attempts….his 114 shots are a Big Ten record 114 shots and his 20 goals ties the conference mark.
Antoine Hoppenot
F, Jr., Princeton, Princeton, N.J.
Started all 18 games for the Tigers…led the team in scoring with nine goals and five assists for 23 points…the Ivy League Player of the Year…had back-to-back two-goals games in the Princeton Invitational…scored two game-winning goals…put 24 of his 52 shots on goal, a .462 accuracy rate.
Arthur Ivo
M, Jr., SMU, Braganca Paulista, Brazil
Started nine of 18 games for the Mustangs…was second on the team in scoring with 23 points on nine goals and five assists…posted two game-winning goals…converted both of his penality kick attempts…23 of his 63 shots were on frame, a .413 accuracy rate…earned NSCAA National Player of the Week honors Oct. 27 with a goal and an assist in a win over No. 17 Tulsa.
Matt Kassel
M, Jr., Maryland, Bridgewater, N.J.
Started all 21 games for the Terps…had nine goals and 10 assists for a team-high 28 points…a first-team All-ACC selection…his game-winner against North Carolina gave Maryland the ACC tournament title…had a .455 accuracy rate, putting 20 of his 44 attempts on-goal…converted five of six penalty kicks.
Ryan Kinne

Started all 20 games this season…scored 12 goals and added six assists for 30 points, all team-highs…his 30 points ties for 13th in the nation, while his 12 goals ties for 12th….two-time Northeast Conference Player of the Year…had four game-winners this year and converted his only penalty attempt.
Darlington Nagbe
F, Jr., Akron, Lakewood, Ohio
Started all 22 games for the Zips…posted 25 points on seven goals and 11 assists this season…two of his goals were game-winners…earned NSCAA National Player of the Week honors Sept. 8 by leading Akron to wins over North Carolina and Wake Forest.
Colin Rolfe
F, Jr., Louisville, Canton, Mich.
Started all 21 games for the Cardinals…leads the team in scoring with 20 points on seven goals and six assists…has netted three game-winning goals, tied for second on the team…has helped the Cardinals to the No. 1 ranking…second consecutive appearance on the Hermann Trophy semifinalist list.
Kofi Sarkodie
D, Jr., Akron, Huber Heights, Ohio
Started 18 of 19 games for the Zips…has 20 points on seven goals and six assists this season…helped the Akron defense post 13 shutouts in 22 games…led a defense that allowed only 12 goals and 64 shots on goal.
Ben Sippola
M, Sr., Butler, Northfield, Minn.
Started all 20 games for the Bulldogs…led the team with 25 points on eight goals and nine assists…half his goals came on penalty kicks as he converted all four of his attempts…scored three game-winning goals…put 23 of his 45 shots on frame, a .511 accuracy rate…attended the same high school as 2009 MAC Hermann Trophy winner Teal Bunbury.
A.J. Soares
D, Sr., California, Solana Beach, Calif.
Started 18 games this season…posted career highs with five goals and 11 points…the anchor of a stingy defense that allowed only 13 goals all season…eight of 16 of his shots were on goal (.500)…the Pac-10 Player of the Year and a three-time All-Pac-10 selection, including two consecutive first-team honors.
Andrew Wenger
D, So., Duke, Lititz, Pa.
Started all 20 games this season, the second season he’s been a starter in every game…named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year…earned first-team All-ACC recognition for the second consecutive year…anchored a defense that posted six shutouts and allowed only 18 goals all season…leads the team in minutes played (1,866).

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
