Three players have earned NSCAA High School All-America honors for the third time with the announcement of the 2010 girls squad, which included 2010 Player of the Year Samantha Mewis (Whitman Hanson Regional/Hanson, Mass.).
Vanessa DiBernardo (Waubonsie Valley/Naperville, Ill.), Lia Bellizzi (Rye/Rye, N.Y.) and Jazmine Reeves (Caesar Rodney/Dover, Del.) each claimed their third honor from the NSCAA. DiBernardo, now playing with the University of Illinois, is the daughter of Angelo DiBernardo, a first-team NSCAA All-America at Indiana University in 1977. Twelve other players received the honor for the second consecutive year.
Mewis was a member of the 2008 U.S. U-17 Women’s World Cup Team that won the silver medal in New Zealand. She also played for the U.S. U-20 Women’s World Cup team in Germany last summer. A three-time NSCAA Youth All-America, she also has won NSCAA High School All-America honors twice. She led her high school team won to four league championships and one sectional title. Her Scorpions SC club team has won two regional and three state championships in the past five years. She will be attending UCLA next fall.
Twenty of the 77 players selected to the team are underclassmen, including two sophomores: goalkeeper Bryane Heaberlin (Berkeley Prep/St. Petersburg, Fla.) and forward Margaret Purce (Our Lady of Good Counsel/Silver Spring, Md.).
The players will be honored at the annual All-America Luncheon, to be held at the Hilton Baltimore Hotel on Saturday, Jan. 15, as part of the 2011 NSCAA Convention.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
