Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) has become the first club to take advantage of the new Member Club membership opportunity offered by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Established in 1974 in Raleigh, N.C., CASL provides instructional and competitive youth soccer opportunities to approximately 9,000 players with four playing divisions. CASL is ranked No. 2 in the nation, in the Boys Division by Soccer America, while ranked No. 18 in the Girls Division. CASL teams have qualified in seven of eight possible categories at the US Soccer Developmental Academy Finals and are the current U-16 Girls Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) national champions.

“We are proud to announce CASL as the inaugural club in our Member Club program,” said NSCAA CEO and Executive Director Joe Cummings. “CASL is one of the most highly respected leagues in the country. We hope they will serve as an example to other clubs to take advantage of the tremendous opportunities our Member Club program offers. We are excited about this new relationship and look forward to implementing some of the many benefits for both organizations.”

By joining at the Platinum Level, CASL will receive discounted individual NSCAA memberships for more than 200 coaches involved with the league. In addition to the individual benefits each coach will enjoy, CASL will receive discounts on NSCAA advertising, registration to the NSCAA College Showcase events and group registration to the 2012 NSCAA Convention, as well as free Convention registrations and vouchers to be used on NSCAA coaching education courses.

As a unique addition to the relationship with CASL, all future NSCAA Member Clubs will receive a $100 discount off their registration fees to the CASL visitraleigh.com National Soccer Series presented by Chelsea Football Club Showcases, which are held annually during the months of November and December.

“The Capital Area Soccer League is honored to be the inaugural NSCAA Member Club,” stated CASL CEO Charlie Slagle. “The NSCAA and CASL have similar soccer educational values and we look forward to working with the NSCAA. Our coaches will benefit from being NSCAA members by getting Soccer Journal, utilizing the NSCAA web site and participating in various educational opportunities, including NSCAA non-residential and residential courses. We look forward to working together closely for the enhancement of our coaches.”
