Cody Niedermeier, a goalkeeper from Broadneck High School in Annapolis, Md., has been named the 2011 NSCAA Boys High School Scholar Athlete of the Year, leading a group of 33 young men selected as the 2011 NSCAA Boys High School Scholar All-America Team.
After a year on the varsity team at Mt. Saint Joseph High School, Neidermeier embarked on a three-year varsity stint at Broadneck, where he made a total of 201 saves and had a .901 save percentage while posting 17 shutouts and serving up two assists. A three-time all-state selection, he was named to the All-Met team (for the Washington, D.C., and Baltimore area) in 2011. His Olney Rangers club team won the U-15 championship at the Disney Showcase. A member of the DC United Academy team from 2009-11, he helped the team to the 2010 MLS SUM Cup championship on a penalty kick shootout. He has been in the U-14 and U-15 U.S. National Player Pool.
He carries a 4.2 weighted grade point average and is ranked 44th in a class of 541 and has earned academic honors in every marking period since middle school. He graduated a semester early to attend the University of Maryland.
Niedermeier and the rest of the Scholar All-Americas will be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, to be held in the Kansas City Convention Center's Grand Ballroom on Saturday, Jan. 14, in conjunction with the 2012 NSCAA Convention in Kansas City, Mo.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
