2011 NSCAA Collegiate Players of the Year Announced

With the announcement of the men's and women's National Players of the Year for NCAA Divisions II and III and NAIA play, Jaime Achten (Lee University/Franklin, Tenn.) becomes only the fifth women's player at a four-year institution to receive the award in consecutive seasons.
Achten is the first NAIA player to repeat as a women recipient. She joins a prestigious roster of repeat honorees, including North Carolina's Mia Hamm (1992-93) and Cindy Parlow (1997-98) and Portland's Christine Sinclair (2004-05) at the NCAA Division I level and Missy Gregg of Christian Brothers College at the NCAA Divsion II level (2002-03). Notre Dame's Kerri Hanks was a two-time honoree, but in non-consecutive years (2006 and 2008).
All non-NCAA Division I National Players of the Year for 2011 are listed below. The NCAA Division I recipients will be announced with the unveiling of the winners of the 2011 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy on Friday evening, Jan. 6. All National Players of the Year will be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, to be held in the Kansas City Convention Center's Grand Ballroom on Saturday, Jan. 14, in conjunction with the 2012 NSCAA Convention in Kansas City, Mo.
NCAA Division II Men
Fabian Kling, D, Sr., Fort Lewis College, Augsburg, Germany
A two-time NSCAA/Continental Tire All-America, Kling rebounded from a seven-game absence due to injury to lead Fort Lewis to its second Division II national title in three years and earn Defensive Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four. He scored seven goals and added two assists for 16 points and played a key role in a defense that surrendered only 11 goals all season.
NCAA Division II Women
Carmelina Puopolo, F, So., College of Saint Rose, Scarborough, Ont.
Starting 24 of 25 games, Puopolo led Saint Rose to its first NCAA title. She led the team with 19 goals and 13 assists and tied for first in the nation with 51 points. She scored both goals for Saint Rose in the championship game to earn Most Outstanding Player of the tournament. Her 10 game-winning goals led the nation this season.
NCAA Division III Women
Jaime Orewiler, F, Sr., Wheaton College (Ill.), Wheaton, Ill.
A two-time NSCAA/Continental Tire All-America, Orewiler propelled Wheaton into the NCAA championship game by scoring five goals and serving up four assists in the run to a national runner-up finish. She tallied 15 goals and had 16 assists in 2011 and concluded her career ranked sixth in school history in points and seventh in both goals and assists.
NCAA Division III Men
Travis Wall, F, Sr., Ohio Wesleyan University, Columbus, Ohio
A first-team NSCAA/Continental Tire All-America for the second consecutive year, Wall led Ohio Wesleyan to its second NCAA title, scoring four goals, two of which were game-winners, during the NCAA tournament. The North Coast Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, he led the league with 19 goals and 15 assists.
NAIA Men
Derek Prinz, D, Sr., Hastings College, Omaha, Neb.
Prinz earned first-team NSCAA/Continental Tire All-America honors for the second consecutive year as he guided the Broncos to a runner-up finish in the NAIA tournament. Starting all 26 games, he anchored defense that posted 13 shutouts and a .79 goals-against average. The Great Plains Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, he also was named to the NAIA All-Tournament Team.
NAIA Women
Jamie Achten, F, Sr., Lee University, Franklin, Tenn.
Achten earns NAIA Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive season and has been named an NSCAA All-America all four years at Lee. In that time she helped the Flames become the first team to win four consecutive NAIA national titles. As a senior she scored 22 goals and had 26 assists, good for a team-high 70 points.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
