Haleigh Hoff, a senior forward from Winfield High School in Winfield, W.Va., has been named the 2011 NSCAA Girls High School Scholar Athlete of the Year. She leads a list of 35 players selected to the 2011 NSCAA Girls High School Scholar All-America Team.
As a four-year varsity starter and three years as team captain, Hoff led the squad to back-to-back state tournament appearances in 2010 and 2011. A four-year all-state selection, she was named the 2010 West Virginia High School Soccer Coaches Association Forward of the Year, then was chosen as Player of the Year in 2011. She also has earned NSCAA High School All-America honors.
Hoff has maintained a 4.0 grade point average at Winfield. In addition to playing soccer, she has been an active member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and has served four years on student council. She also has spent hundreds of volunteer hours coaching and training for the West Virginia Chaos Soccer Club. She has enrolled at the University of Kentucky for the spring 2012 semester.
The 35 scholar athletes will be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, to be held in the Kansas City Convention Center's Grand Ballroom on Saturday, Jan. 14, in conjunction with the 2012 NSCAA Convention in Kansas City, Mo.

Good idea to acknowledge UEFA right at the conclusion of the club season. If the Euros have the drama of this year's UCL it should be a great month of international soccer in June.
