Diego Ramos (Darton College/Deerfield Beach, Fla.) has been named the 2011 NSCAA Men's Junior College Division I Player of the Year, leading a group of 23 players designated to the 2011 NSCAA/Continental Tire Men's Junior College Division I All-America Team.

Ramos helped power Darton to its second consecutive Region XVII championship and a No. 2 finish in the final NSCAA/Continental Tire national ranking. The Region XVII Player of the Year, Ramos scored 17 goals and was credited with 30 assists, which led the NJCAA. His 64 points were fifth-best in the nation.

Only one player on this year's earned repeat All-America honors, as Sebastian Velazquez (Spartanburg Methodist College/Greenville, S.C.) received the award for the second consecutive year. The team includes a posthumous recipient: Jose Perez (San Jacinto College/Euless, Texas) lost his life in an automobile accident Sept. 13. The former U.S. U-17 Men's National Team and member of U.S. Soccer's residency program in Bradenton, Fla., was in his freshman season at San Jacinto.

The players will be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, to be held in the Kansas City Convention Center's Grand Ballroom on Saturday, Jan. 14, in conjunction with the 2012 NSCAA Convention in Kansas City, Mo.
