Girls and Boys High School Teams Round out the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Winter Rankings Poll

Girls
Plano West Senior High School jumped up five spots in the national rankings to be named the final No. 1 team of the Winter National Rankings. The Wolves completed their season with a 1-0 win over Katy Seven Lakes to take the 2012 Texas State Championship, their fifth state championship overall – a Texas record. Aliso Niguel High School, which held the No. 1 spot in the Feb. 7 poll, returned to the rankings at No. 2 after defeating Los Osos in the SoCal Regional DI Final. The Wolverines finished with a 23-1-4 record. American Heritage held onto its No. 3 spot for the third poll in a row after winning its final five games of the season to end with a 27-2-1 record.
New to the winter rankings is Los Osos High School, who enters with a 35-1-3 record after finishing with a perfect 10-0 league record. Los Osos fell to No. 2 Alsiso Miguel in the California regional final. Marcus High School jumped up three spots to No. 5 in the final poll. The Marauders, who finished with a 26-3-1 record, made it to the Texas Region I final before falling to No. 1 Plano West in a penalty kick shootout. For the fourth ranking in a row, St. Thomas Aquinas remained in the No. 6 spot with a strong 27-1-1 overall record after winning the South Florida State Championship over Paul J. Hagerty, 3-2, in overtime.
Mount Carmel Academy held their No. 7 spot for the second poll in a row by finishing with a 29-3-0 record and a Louisiana State Championship. Carroll High School from Southlake, Texas, the former No. 1 team, lost in the playoffs to No. 5 Marcus High School. The Dragons finished with a No. 8 ranking and a 25-3-1 record. Claremont High School entered the polls for the first time this season at No. 9 with a final record of 28-2-3 while St. John’s Country Day School and St. Scholastica rounded out the top 10 with records of 23-3-2 and 20-1-1, respectively.

Boys
Despite five new teams entering the poll for the final High Schools Boys Winter Ranking, Cypress Bay High School in Weston, Fla. held onto the top spot for the entire season with a 22-0-2 record. The Lightning defeated Mandarin High School, 4-1, in the Florida State Championship. Jesuit High School jumped up three spots to No. 2 after winning a second consecutive Louisiana State Championship, 2-1, over Lafayette High School. The Blue Jays finished with a 25-2-4 record. Sharyland High School entered the polls for the first time at No. 3 due to its penalty kick shootout win over Morton Ranch in the Texas State Championship. They finished with a 33-3-3 record.
Montverde Academy jumped up one spot to No. 4 with an undefeated 23-0-4 record. Paramount Academy, another new team to the polls, enters with a 25-4-3 record to share the No. 4 spot with Montverde. The Pirates defeated No. 6 Crescenta Valley, 2-1, to take the SoCal I Title. Despite its loss in the final, Crescenta Valley, who was also unranked before the final release, took the No. 6 spot with a 26-1-6 record as its loss to Paramount was their only one of the season. Morton Ranch High School shared the No. 6 spot with Crescenta with a 20-4-6 overall record.
St. Louis Catholic held onto its No. 8 ranking by defeating Ben Franklin High School, 1-0, in the Division II Louisiana State Championship. The Saints finished with a 27-1-4 record. Boca Raton also remained in the same spot with a No. 10 ranking to finish out the winter season. The team lost to No. 1 Cypress Bay, 3-1, in the Florida State semi-final. Alamo Heights rounds out the final rankings with an overall record of 30-2-1. New to the polls, the Mules defeated Rider High School in a penalty kick shootout to take UIA 4A Texas title.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
