Olathe East lands girls' top spot; Lambert and Norman North share boys' top spot in final rankings

Olathe East High School in Olathe, Kan., captured the top spot in the final National Soccer Coaches Association of America Spring High School National Rankings. As the only team on the list sporting a spotless record and over 20 wins, Olathe East finishes as the No. 1 team with a 21-0-0 record, a 6A Kansas State Champion title, Sunflower League Championship title, Regional Championship title and Olathe Northwest Tournament title.
Hough High School in Cornelius, N.C. vaulted up the polls from No. 19 to finish in the No. 2 spot. The team upset the previous No. 1 Green Hope High School, 2-1, to take the Division 4A State Championship and finished with a 26-0-1 record. St. Mary’s High School of Stockton, Calif. continued its steady climb up the rankings to finish at No. 3 with a 30-1-0 record. The Rams defeated Franklin High School, 2-1, in the state championship and finished as the No. 1 team in California. Milton High School of Milton, Ga. jumped from the No. 10 to finish at No. 4 in the final rankings. The Eagles defeated the Northview Titans, 4-0, in the GHSA 5A Girls Soccer State Championship to end with a 22-1-0 record. After holding the No. 2 spot for two consecutive polls, Naperville North High School of Naperville, Ill. dropped out of the rankings in last month’s poll; however, thanks to a last-minute overtime goal in the class 3A championship game, the Huskies returned to the rankings at No. 5 after taking the state title from St. Charles North. The team finished with a 24-1-2 record.
Cumberland Valley High School of Mechanicsburg, Pa. held onto its No. 6 spot with a 26-2-0 record, while Cosby High School of Chesterfield, Va. jumped up one spot to finish at No.7 with a 23-0-1 record. Okemos High School of Okemos, Mich. and Padua Academy of Wilmington, Del., both enter the top 10 as previous unranked teams to finish at No. 8 and No. 9, respectively. Finally, Oak Mountain High School of Birmingham, Ala. rounds out the top 10 by finishing with a 28-2-0 record.

Lambert High School of Suwanee, Ga. held onto its top spot to finish as one of the No. 1 high school boy’s teams in the nation with a spotless 21-0-0 record. The Longhorns won the Georgia state championship with a strong 5-0 win after four goals from junior Bakawsu Kinteh, the program’s first state championship game after just three years of existence. Sharing the top spot with Lambert is Norman North High School of Norman, Okla., the only other team on the list with an undefeated record at 17-0-0. The Timberwolves won their second state championship in three years after a 2-1 overtime win over Tulsa Union, the previous No. 1 team in the state. Both goals came from senior Brandon Little Axe.
Creighton Prep High School jumped up six spots to finish at No. 3 in the final rankings. The team took a 2-0 win over rival Omaha Westside to take the Class A state championship and finish with a 22-1-0 record. Previously unranked Brentwood High School of Brentwood, Tenn., vaulted into the rankings to sit at No. 4 behind a fourth state title and 19-1-2 record. Rounding out the top five is Auburn High School of Auburn, Ala. The team defeated Oak Mountain for the Class 6A State Championship, 1-0, for the school’s first ever state championship.
West High School of Iowa City, Iowa jumped up eight spots to finish at No. 6 with a 21-1-0 record, while J.L. Mann of Greenville, S.C. enters the polls for the first time at No. 7 with a 23-2-1 record. Coming in at No. 8 is Springdale High School of Springdale, Ark., who moved from the No. 11 spot after finishing with an 18-1-0 record. Skutt Catholic of Omaha, Neb. and Skyview of Vancouver, Wash. both enter the polls as pervious unranked teams, finishing at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively, to round out the top 10.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
