Group attacking, defending and more from the NSCAA’s Ian Barker

Group work is one of the primary topics of this week’s Online Resource Library feature, which highlights articles posted by our Director of Coaching Education, Ian Barker.
Group Attacking focuses on quick penetration and immediate support to the player in possession. The outline also notes to identify a timed run behind defenders, when a defender is committed to the ball and when a run behind the ball unbalances defenders.
In Group Defending, Barker provides notes for zone and man-to-man defending. The coaching points to highlight in this article is team togetherness, as well as communication.
Additional articles by Barker that have been recently posted include:
- Attacking tactics, narrowing in on ball circulation and off-the-ball readiness
- A U14/U15 Camp Activity, focusing on technical proficiency and attacking wide areas
These articles have been made readily available for a short time to both members and non-members at the Online Resource Library, along with hundreds more.
On a regular basis, the NSCAA will feature an article or practice plan from the Resource Library. To have yours featured on NSCAA.com, contact Chris Burt at cburt@nscaa.com.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
