The National Soccer Coaches Association of America and Positive Coaching Alliance are both organizations dedicated to equipping coaches with ways to better lead their teams.

It is one of the reasons why both organizations are teaming up to provide education opportunities to coaches, specifically those coaching youth, club and high school teams. Through this partnership, both NSCAA members and the PCA network will have access to courses and discounts focused on building up a coach’s repertoire.

“The partnership between the NSCAA and PCA makes tremendous sense. We are both dedicated to developing the game of soccer through effective coaching,” said Ian Barker, NSCAA’s Director of Coaching Education. “The NSCAA will support PCA’s understanding of the technical challenges of the American soccer coach and PCA will provide our members access to cutting-edge sports science in the overall education of the athlete.”

NSCAA Member Clubs can take advantage of a discount on PCA Level III partnerships, centered on the organization’s Double-Goal Coach® workshops that train coaches how to pursue wins while also teaching life lessons through sports. PCA partner organizations can join the NSCAA Member Club using a per-member discount. Additionally, Individual NSCAA members can receive money off PCA’s online workshops.

“PCA’s partnership with NSCAA will impact thousands of coaches and potentially millions of youth soccer players,” said Jim Thompson, PCA Founder and CEO. “A Double-Goal Coach approach means players will improve their performance and develop character, which in turn will go a long way toward enhancing soccer throughout the U.S.”

Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) is a national non-profit organization committed to providing all youth and high school athletes a positive, character-building experience, primarily by providing live and online training for coaches, parents, organizational leaders and teen athletes.

PCA courses and literature will be made available immediately to NSCAA members participating in residential course and attending the 2013 NSCAA Convention in Indianapolis. Information can also be found at NSCAA.com, positivecoach.org, membership magazines and other avenues.
