NSCAA announces Dingess and Muhart as High School Players of the Week

Senior forward/defender Anne Douglas Dingess of Ensworth High School (Nashville Tenn.) and senior forward Kenny Muhart of Weir High School (Weirton, W.V.) have been chosen as NSCAA High School Players of the Week.

Dingess, also known as “Dougie,”is a defender as an Ensworth Tiger team member. So far this season, she has netted six goals and assisted on seven others.

At Ensworth High School, she is coached by Molly Burgdorf and has been a starter since her freshman year. Dingess, a 3.5 GPA student, has committed to furthering her education and soccer career at Furman University next fall.

Muhart scored nine goals and two assists, helping his team win three games. His nine goals include two in an 11-1 victory over John Marshall (Glen Dale, W.V.), and four in an 8-1 victory over Edison (Richmond, Ohio).

He is a 4.0 student and involved in a number of extracurricular clubs. He’s coached at Weir High School by NSCAA member coach Joseph Pepe.

The NSCAA High School Player of the Week program is designed to highlight the future stars of the game. Anyone can nominate a player, however only players whose coach is a current NSCAA member are eligible for selection.

Honorees will be released on Wednesdays via multiple NSCAA communications channels visited by thousands of coaches, administrators and other athletes.

The next submission deadline is Monday, Sept. 17, followed by the Sept. 19 announcement.
