Senior defender Mackenze Parma of St. Agnes Academy (Memphis, Tenn.) and sophomore goalkeeper Greg Kelly of Rock Bridge Senior High School (Columbia, Mo.) have been named NSCAA High School Players of the Week.
Parma and Kelly go down in the association’s history as the first NSCAA High School Players of the Week, a program launched for the 2012-13 seasons.
Parma scored seven goals in the team’s first two games of this season with versatility on the field, playing up top and as a defender.
She has already helped guide the St. Agnes Academy program to a state championship and two state runners-up titles and is looking to finish her high school career with another state title. She has committed to Ole Miss next year.
This week’s girls’ honorable mention include Pume Currie (Riverton H.S., Utah), Danielle Lang (Amelia H.S., Cincinnati), Malia Berkely (Badin H.S., Hamilton, Ohio), and Sydney Sladek (Pahrump Valley H.S., Pahrump, Nev.).
Kelly recorded five saves against Rockhurst High School (Kansas City, Mo.) while protecting the box, making sure no Rockhurst players finished attacks on their numerous corner kicks.
His steadfast play and allowance of only one goal resulted turned into Rock Bridge winning a 1-1 game over the Hawklets on penalty kicks.
The boys’ honorable mention are Brendon Gorde (Almont H.S., Almont, Mich.) Dion Ursino (Notre Dame College Prep, Niles, Ill.) Brandt Bronico (High Point Wesleyan, High Point, NC.) and Justin Oliver (North St. Paul, St. Paul, Minn.).
The NSCAA High School Player of the Week program is designed to highlight the future stars of the game. Anyone can nominate a player, however only players whose coach is a current NSCAA member are eligible for selection.
Honorees will be released on Wednesdays via multiple NSCAA communications channels visited by thousands of coaches, administrators and other athletes.
For more information on a NSCAA membership, visit NSCAA.com/membership. To see if you membership is current, login to myNSCAA.
The next submission deadline is Monday, Sept. 10., followed by the Sept. 12 announcement.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
