Women’s Big 12 and men’s WCC matchups on FOX Soccer as NSCAA College Game of the Week

Texas Tech will host Oklahoma State at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the Santa Clara men hosting Portland at 10 p.m. as Friday’s two NSCAA College Games of the Week.
Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma State – Friday, Oct. 26 at 8 p.m.
The Red Raiders are riding a four-game unbeaten streak, and are 13-4-1 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play this season under head coach Tom Stone.
The Texas Tech offense is led by freshman forward Janine Beckie and sophomore forward Paige Strahan. Beckie leads the Red Raiders with 22 points (nine goals and four assists). Meanwhile, Strahan has contributed 17 points (8 goals, 1 assist) and is currently tied for the lead in the Big 12 with five game-winning goals.
Sophomore defender Jalen Hinkle and junior goalkeeper Victoria Esson will be relied upon defensively. After a stellar freshman season, Hinkle was elected preseason All-American. Esson has 1.06 goals-against average, 69 saves and four shutouts.
Oklahoma State is also riding an unbeaten streak, posting a win and two ties in their last three contests. The Cowgirls, under the tutelage of 17th-year head coach Colin Carmichael, are 11-4-3 overall, but has struggled in conference play this year with a 1-3-3 record.
The squad is led offensively by senior forward Megan Marchesano, who leads team with 25 points (11 goals, 3 assists). Freshman forward Madison Mercado has contributed with ten points on four goals and two assists on the year.
The Cowgirls defense is anchored by senior goalkeeper Adrianna Franch, who has goals-against average of 0.92 and six shutouts in the 17 games she started this year.
Santa Clara vs. Portland - Friday, Oct. 26 at 10 p.m.
Santa Clara and Portland will face off for the second time this year, as the Broncos won the first meeting at Portland, 3-2.
The Broncos, coached by Cameron Roast, are coming off a 1-0 victory over Gonzaga last week, which kept them tied for the lead in the West Coast Conference. The team is 8-5 overall and 5-1 in WCC action.
The Broncos are led offensively by senior forward Erik Hurtado, who leads the WCC with 26 points (11 goals, 4 assists). Also contributing offensively are junior forward Carlos Montes with nine points (3 goals, 3 assists) and freshman forward Ryan Masch with nine points (4 goals, 1 assists).
Santa Clara’s senior goalkeeper Larry Jackson has four shutouts to his credit with a goals-against average of 0.90 and has racked up 46 saves on the year.
Portland, coached by Bill Irwin, has a 5-7-1 record on the year with an in-conference record 3-3-0. The Pilots are coming off back-to-back losses and will look to bring their record above .500 in conference play.
The Pilots offense also has a top-ranked conference scorer in junior midfielder Steven Evans. Evans is currently tied for eighth place, with the Broncos’ Hurtado, in goals per game with an average of 0.85. Evans currently leads the Pilots with 24 points (11 goals, 2 assists). Also contributing offensively is senior forward Ricardo Carrillo who leads the Pilots in assists with four.
Defensively, the Pilots will rely on junior goalkeeper Justin Baarts, who in 13 games has racked up 55 saves on the year.
The NSCAA College Game of the Week is in its eighth season on FOX Soccer. The broadcast features games between some of the top NCAA Division I men’s and women’s teams on Thursday and Friday nights.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
