Trying to figure out how to go to the 2013 NSCAA Convention but don’t know if it’s in your budget?

You don’t have to miss out on some of the live demonstrations and seminars from world renowned soccer coaches, and numerous networking opportunities that awaits Convention attendees in January.

Here are just a few ways to maximize your experience and save a few bucks in the process.

  • Register for the Convention before December 15 and save $80.

  • Within driving distance of Indianapolis? Use the NSCAA Forums to find a travel partner to save on gas and search for affordable alternative parking downtown. You can also use the forums to find a roommate or two to cut down on the cost of the hotel room.

  • Pre-order meal tickets when you register online by January 9 to the High School and Youth, College, and Women's Breakfasts and save.

  • NSCAA diplomas, college credits and CEUs offered for Convention sessions may make your registration eligible for professional development reimbursement from your school/district. Check with your administration to find out.

  • Pack your own lunch or find a great deal at one of the many downtown Indianapolis restaurants. You can also save time and money by stocking up on snacks at a local convenient or grocery store.

  • Check out some online sites that offer discounts at local establishments. For instance, Restaurant.com offers discount gift certificates to use at some local Indy eateries. Use the coupon code SAVE to reap even more benefits at checkout.

  • Grab a free lunch at the Exhibit Hall Networking Lunch on Friday.

  • Planning to purchase equipment or uniforms for your team? Make sure to spend some time in the NSCAA Exhibit Hall as companies offer some of the best deals of the year.

Traveling to Indy

If you’re looking for deals on flights, try going to travel sites instead of directly to the airline website itself. Sites like Orbitz, Travelocity and Expedia sometimes offer great deals on flights. Also consider using your credit card points for airfare and other travel expenses.

NSCAA Facebook fan Ryan Wood adds: "In some instances when booking flights, rather than roundtrip, you can save up to $100 if you book two one-way flights. Also, best day to find best flight deals is Tuesday."

Reserve a shuttle from the airport to your hotel and you will pay half as much for a round trip for a taxi from the hotel to the airport. The Bloomington Shuttle is offering special rates for the NSCAA Convention. If you book in advance the cost of the shuttle is $26 dollars roundtrip from hotel to airport, saving you $24 in cab fare.

Do you have some friends who want to attend the Convention with you? Carpooling is a great way to save some money when traveling to Indianapolis. Here are some nearby cities within a day’s drive of Indianapolis:

Did you know you could save up to 75 percent on your Convention trip by adding roommates to your hotel room? Use the NSCAA Forums, or the NSCAA Facebook Page to find one (or two).

You can also find the best room rate by booking at an official NSCAA Convention hotel.  Each one of our hotels is connected via skywalk to the Convention Center. To take advantage of one of these hotels use the code: NSCATT0113IND when registering for housing.
